NEWS ITEMS:  (Breckinridge County) Mr. Harry SCOTT of Vine Grove (Hardin County), Ky., was here 
Sunday, October 15, 1899 to attend the funeral of Miss NICHOLS, his niece.

Miss Mattie NICHOLS, a young lady just budding into womanhood, died Saturday, October 14, 1899 of 
typhoid fever.

Please note:
Big Spring, Ky. lies in three different counties, Breckinridge, Meade, and Hardin.

I did not find a tombstone for Mattie in the Breckinridge County Cemeteries, volume one, published in 
1991.
