Born: Barren Co KY
U S Army veteran (Calvary Unit) U S National Guard in Glasgow. Employed by DuPont on the Manhattan Project in Washington State during WW II and later on the Savannah River Project in SC. Returned to Glasgow in 1958 and began work as construction superintendent for Ralph Rogers Construction Company until his retirement in 1979. In 1929, became the first All-State football player from Glasgow HIgh School. Had over 50 years service to the Masonic organization.Member of Allen Lodge #24, a 50-year member of the York Rite and a 50-year member of the Shrine.

Daughters: JoAnne Smith of Horse Cave KY, Wanda Lee Peden of Dayton, OH and Sue Elender Gillespie of Glasgow
Son: Lt Col Charles H Peden Jr of Louisville KY
Grandchildren: Bradley T Smith of Horse Cave, Leslie E Smith of Nashville TN, Brian Taylor and Emily Taylor Ogle, both of Glasgow, Lyndsey Peden of Versailles KY and Micah Taylor of Elizabethtown KY Several nieces and nephews Preceded in death by:
Parents; Charles Luther and Lucinda Mansfield Peden
Wife: Eva Coe Peden
Sisters: Rosie Lee Peden and Lucinda Peden Turvy
Services: Friday, 5 Mar 2004, 11 am, chapel of Winn Funeral Home in Horse Cave KY, burial Peden Cemetery in Temple Hill KY; Masonic services were held.
