Deed Bk C, p 30, 31 REDMAN; PERCEFUL; HELM; ENLOWS; WITHERS; BELL; LARUE; MORRISON; This Indenture made this 25 day of March one thousand eight hundred and five. Witnesseth that Benjamin HELM Clerk of the County Court of Hardin by and with the consent of Isom ENLOWS William WITHERS George BELL Jacob LARUE & David MORRISON gentlemen Justices of the peace in and for the County aforesaid now sitting and whose names are hereunto Subscribed have put and placed and by them presents do put and place John REDMAN a poor child of the County aforesaid and with him to dwell and to serve from the day of the date of these presents until the said apprentice shall accomplish his full age of twenty one years, according to the laws in that case made and provided during all which time the said apprentice his master faithfully shall serve in all lawful business according to his power wit and ability honestly orderly and obediently in all things demean and behave himself to his said Master during said term; and the said James PERCEFUL doth for himself his heirs to covenant to and with the said Benjamin HELM and his successors in office, by these presents that he the said James PERCEFUL the said apprentice in the art and mistory of a blacksmith which he now useth, shall and will teach and instruct or cause to be taught and instructed in the best way and manner that he can and shall and will during all the term aforesaid find provide and allow unto the said apprentice sufficient meat drink and appearl lodging washing and all other things necessary and fit for an apprentice and shall and will teach or cause to be taught the said apprentice reading writing and common arithmetic including the rule of three and shall and will provide for the said apprentice that he be not any way charged to the County during the said term and at the end thereof shall and will pay unto the said apprentice three pounds and ten shillings current money and also allow provide make and deliver unto the said apprentice double apparel of all sorts one suit whereof to be decent and new. In witness whereof the parties to this Indenture interchangeably have put their hands and seats this day and year first above written.
