Artle Perkins

PAOLI - Artle Perkins, 89, Paoli, died at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday at Orange
County Hospital.

Born in Grayson County, Ky., he was the son of Davis S. and Leann "Miller"
Perkins. He married Hattie Willis Carby on July 14, 1928, and she survives.
He was a retired custodian of Paoli Community Schools and a member of the
Baptist faith.

Surviving with his wife are three sons: Elmo Perkins of Paoli, George
Perkins of Anderson and Jerry Perkins of Bloomington; three daughters: Cora
Lena Halbert of Milan, Anna Lee Briscoe of Kokomo and Jane Guy of South
Bend; 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Garrett and Ell
Perkins; and two sons: Randall and Dale Perkins.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kemple Funeral Home in Paoli. The
Rev. Craig Chestnut will officiate. Burial will follow at Paoli Community
Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until time of
service Saturday at the funeral home.
