OBIT: Pearl Peters, 1949, McCreary & Pulaski Co. & TN Submitted by Sherri Hall Mrs. Pearl Peters, 68, died Tuesday morning at the Jellico, Tenn. hospital. She entered the hospital one day prior to her death. She had been in decling health since June 26 when she suffered a heart attack. Mrs. Peters was born April 7, 1881, at Alpine, being the daughter of the late Elias and Sallie Smith McKee. She and James Franklin Peters were married in the spring of 1899. He preceded her in death. Mr and Mrs. Peters were the parents of 13 children, seven of whom survive. Twenty-one years ago Mr. Peters moved here from Indian Head, McCreary County, and made her home at 121 Jacksboro Street. She was a devoted mother, an earnest Christian and a kind, considerate neighbor. She was a consecrated member of the High Street Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at the High Street Baptist Church Thursday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock with the Rev. Gerald K. Ford officiating. Burial will be in the City Cemetery. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Letha Marlar, Parkers Lake; Mrs. Nell Bolin, Sloans Valley; Arlie Peters, Miss Mayme Peters, Miss Hazel Peters, Kenneth Peters and Miss Kathleen Peters, all of Somerset.
