Deed Bk C, p 74, 75 Mudd; Pile; Slack; Barlow Deed Thomas Mudd & C. to Benjamin Pile This Indenture entered into this 31st day of August in the year of our lord 1804 Between Thomas Mudd and Elizabeth his wife of the County of Washington and State of Kentucky of the one part and Benjamin Pile of the County and State aforesaid of the other. Witnesseth that the said Thomas and Elizabeth Mudd does for and in consideration of one hundred pounds to them in hand paid, bargain and sell to Benjamin Pile and by these presents do convey and transfer to him the following tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Washington on road run. Containing one hundred acres more or less & Bounded as follows (Viz) beginning at an elm, Ironwood and Dogwood corner to William Slacks two hundred acres survey thence running south forty eight degrees East eighty poles to a Buckeye white oak and Ironwood thence north forty eight degrees East two hundred poles to a Hickory and two Dogwoods, on Barlows line thence with the said line North forty two degrees West eighty poles to the Beginning which said tract or parcel of land together with all its appurtenances we do hereby convey to Benjamin Pile and do likewise covenant and agree for ourselves heirs &c. to warrant and defend the aforesaid premises from ourselves heirs &o. as well as from any person or persons whatever either claiming under us or a different claimant I testimony whereof or hereunto set our hands and affix our Seals. I, John Reed clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid do hereby certify that on the day of the date hereof This Indenture was acknowledged before me in my office by the within named Thomas Mudd and Elizabeth his wife (she being privately examined as the law directs and relinquishing her right of dower) to be their act and deed, and thereupon admitted to Record.
