Subject: OBIT; Dr. O. Polin 1905 WASHINGTON

 
Dr. O. Polin, president of the Washington County Medical Society 
and the oldest practicing physician in this section of the state, 
died Saturday of heart failure in Springfield. He was born near 
Harrodsburg, May 28, 1829, and was graduated in 1850. He had 
practiced medicine continuously at Springfield since that time. 
He comes of a family of physicians, his father, grandfather, and 
brothers were all physicians. Dr. Polin's father and two brothers 
came to this country from Ireland about the year 1790; one of 
these brothers was a lawyer, the other a priest, Dr. Polin’s 
father being a doctor. He was a devout member of the Roman 
Catholic Church and faithful in all of its doctrines. Dr. Polin 
was strictly professional and scientific and in his death the 
profession loses one of its greatest sons.
