Know all men by these presents that we James Preston and Samuel Switzer & 
Toliver Preston are held & firmly bound unto the commonwealth of Kentucky in 
the just & full sum of fifty pounds current money for the payment of which will 
& truly to be made we bind ourselves our heirs jointly & severally, firmly by 
these presents sealed with our seals & dated this 17th day of Decr 1834- The 
condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage 
shortly intended to be solemnized between the above bound James Preston and 
Betsey Switzer of this county.  Now if there should be no lawful cause to 
obstruct said marriage then the above obligation to be void else to remain in 
full force & virtue.
