Between William PURDY of Washington County and State of Kentucky of the one part and James McELROY, John MULDROUGH and George EWING (Trustees for the Calvinst Presbiterian Congregation on the head of hardins Creek) in the aforesaid County and State of the other part Witnesseth. that the said William PURDY for and in Consideration of the sum of five shillings to him in hand well and truly paid by the said James McELROY John MULDROUGH and George EWING, Trustees as aforesaid the receipt whereof he the said William PURDY do hereby acknowledge by these presents hath Granted bargained and Sold and by these presents do grant Bargain, Sell Convey and Confirm unto the said James McELROY, John MULDROUGH and George EWING, Trustees as aforesaid and to their Successors forever a certain piece or parcel of land Containing by Survey two Acres including the Presbyterian meeting house near Robert BLANES in the aforesaid County and bounded as follows (that is to say) Beginning at a stake in BLANES line thence South thirty seven degrees west eighteen poles to a dogwood and two hickorys thence North fifty three degrees West Seventeen and three fourths poles to an Elm and Black Jack thence North thirty seven degrees East eighteen poles to a Stake in BLANES line thence South fifty three degrees east with BLANES line Seventeen and three fourth poles to the Beginning together with all and Singular its appurtenances and also all the estate right title interest property claim and _____ whatsoever of him the said William PURDY of in or to the said two acres of land with its appurtenances To have and to hold all and Singular the said two acres of land with its appurtenances unto the said James McELROY, John MULDROUGH and George EWING, Trustees as aforesaid and to their Sucessors for the purpose and use of a Presbeterian Meeting House and for no other use or purpose whatsoever and it is further agreed on by the parties that provided the said Presbeterian Meeting House ceases to be continued for the aforesaid purpose the Said Trustees or their Successors do oblige themselves to convey the aforesaid two acres to the said William PURDY or his heirs for the same sum they now pay for the land, and the said William PURDY the said two acres of land herediments and premises with their appurtenances unto the said James McELROY, John MULDROUGH and George EWING Trustees and their Successors against him the said William PURDY and his heirs shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In Testimony whereof the said William PURDY have hereunto set his hand & affixed his Seal the day and year first above written.
