First after all my debts are paid, and discharged, the residue of my estate both real and personal, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Julia Ann Rankins her natural life, to be used by her as she thinks best for her bodily support. At the expiration of her natural life I desire that the residue of the estate both real and personal which may remain shall be equally divided among my heirs in law as the law requires without will. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribe my name and affixed my seal, This 26th day of June in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Eight-hundred and seventy seven. J. P. Prather Clerk of the Robertson County Court do certify that the foregoing instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and testament of William Rankins, Deceased was at the November Term 1877, of the Robertson County Court produced in open court and filed and proved by the oaths of J. P. Chamberlin and Thomas Piles the subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be over for exceptions and at the present Term of the said Court no exceptions having been taken thereto, the same is approved, and established as the last will and testament of said Decedent, and ordered to be recorded as such.
