We learn with sadness of the death of Mr. Bud Read, of the little bend, caused by falling on the ice and receiving a severe blow on the side of the head.  He was able after falling to walk to his house but soon fell into a stupor and remained speechless, dying within a few hours.  Dr. J. W. Howard was sent for but the patient died before he arrived.  Mr. Read was a young married man and leaves a family and many sorrowing friends.  He was a son of Columbus Read.
