E. & Zelda King - Albert & Marcia Rice June 1, 1945 Powell County KyArchives Deed Written: June 1, 1945 Recorded: June 2, 1945 This DEED, between Albert Rice and Marcia Rice his wife of Stanton, KY parties of the first part, and J.E. King and Zelda King his wife, parties of the second part, witnesseth: That said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of One Dollar, cash in hand paid, and furthr in consideration of second parties Two promissory notes each in the amount of Four hundres (sic) and Fifty Dollars, payable to the Powell County Bank of Stanton, Kentucky, and due in Six and Twelve months respectfully from date, and bearing interest at the rate of 6% per annum from date with a lien retained on the property to secure the payment of said notes and interest, the receipt of which is being acknowledged, do hereby sell, grant and convey to the parties of the second part their heirs and assigns, the following described property, to-wit: a certain tract of parcel of land situated in the county of Powell and State of Kentucky, and on the waters of Hatton Creek, and beginning at a sycamore at Harlan Hurts corner at the County Road, thence running westerly course with the fence 1250 feet to rock marker: (handwritten insert) thence 50 feet to an iron stake; thence a southeast course about 1000 feet to an oak tree; thence 50 feet or more to the County road; thence a North course with the County road to the beginning. Being the same land conveyed from Jesse Chaney, and Beulah Chaney to Albert Rice and Marcia Rice by Deed bearing date 1 day of January 1938, and fo (sic) record in Deed Book No. 36 at page 562, Powell County Clerk's Office. Reference is made to a Deed from I. W. Johnson, which is on record in D. B. #36 at page 563. To have and to hold the same, together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging to the parties of the second part their heirs and assigns forever, with covenant of general warranty.
