Mr. Charlie B. Rogers died at his home near Goodnight, Saturday, February 22, about noon, of a complication of diseases. He had been sick two weeks. "He is survived by his wife, who was, before her marriage, Miss Sarah Forbis; one son, Mr. J. B. Rogers, and one daughter, Mrs. Mote Peden, also survive. "Mr. Rogers was seventy-eight years of age, and a member of the Christian church of long standing. "Funeral services was at the home Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Smith, of the Cave City Christian Church, preaching after which interment as in the Rogers burying ground near Goodnight, his Confederate soldier comrades having charge of the burial. As was Mr. Roger's wish, he was buried in his uniform as a Confederate soldier. "During the Civil War he was with General Morgan as chief scout, and was a wonderfully brave and resourceful man. Many tales are told of his daring and bravery in the field of battle." Shown Father.
