Submitted by Sandi Gorin NOTE: I have no connection, no further information and am not seeking additional information. "Our Loved One Gone. It is with much sorrow and regret that we chronicle the death of Mrs. Lucy E. Higgason Sandidge, which occurred at her home in Houston, Texas county, Mo. on Wednesday at the hour of 3 o'clock p.m. She died of rheumatic fever at the age of twenty-nine years. The remains were buried the day following her death in the cemetery at that place." "Mrs. Sandidge was born at Center, Metcalfe county, Ky., in 1869, her married name being Lucy E. Higgason, daughter of Dr. S. R. Higgason, who died at that place during her infancy. Mrs. Sandidge had a host of firends all over Metcalfe and adjoining counties who will be pained to hear of her untimely death. She taught several schools in this section of the country. She also attended school as Liberty College in Glasgow during the fall and winter of 1889, and while there made many warm friends. In 1890 she went to Nelson, Saline county, Mo. and while visiting her uncle's family at that place she became the wife of Mr. Robert L. Sandidge, a resident of Arrow Rock, in the same county. Two children came to bless their home during their residence at Arrow Rock. Thirteen months ago they removed to Houston, where Mr. Sandidge purchased and has since edited, the Texas County Star. Our informant states that since moving to Houston, Mrs. Sandidge had, by her kindness, sympathy and love, endeared herself to her townspeople. That she had friends was evidenced by the numerous acts of kindness shown her during her illness and death. Every comfort possible was givenher declining hours, but all eartly efforts were futile and she peacefully and quietly passed to that bright and better world, where there is no sorrow, no sickness, no death.
