Know all men by these presents that we Jonathan Scott and George E. Rogers are 
held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky, in the penal sum of 
L50 current money, the payment wherof well and truly to be made:  We and each 
of us bind ourselves, our heirs, &c. jointly and severally, by these presents 
sealed and dated this 20 day of January 1841.
The condition of this bond is this, a marriage is shortly intended to be 
solemnized between the above bound Jonathan Scott & Elizabeth Jane Harrison. Now if it shall always hereafter appear, that there is no legal obstruction to 
said marriage, then this bond to be void, else to remain in full force and
