Will Book A p. 151 In obedience to an order of the Spencer County Court appointing the undersigned Commissioners to allot and set apart to SARAH SCOTT her dower in the Land, Slaves and personal estate wherof JOHN SCOTT Dec’d Died seized of as follows... we met on the premises of JOHN SCOTT Dec’d upon the 29 Oct 1829 and proceeded to survey the land apart of which is hereby submited and the figures 1245 and 6 represent the widows third of the Land including the mansion House wich is one third of the whole Tract . JOHN SCOTT Dec’d possessed the following slaves PEGGY worth $78.00 CATY worth $250.00 NED worth $350.00 SOLOMON worth $375 SHARPER worth $375 RACHAEL worth $278.00 MADLONIA worth $125.00 NELLY worth $125.00 WINNY and ZADOC worth ---- (it looks like dashes - perhaps an elderly couple assigned no amount?) We give MRS. SCOTT the widow SOLOMON and RACHAEL valued at $650 and she agrees to keep WINNY and ZACK the personal Estate was not divide Saving that for further Division as our thought the widow could purchase such things as she wanted and the administrator could pay to her one third of the money arising from the sale fo the personal estate after payment of the Debts against said estate of JOHN SCOTT Deduced the remains one hundred and twenty of Land to the children of JOHN SCOTT and six negroes we think th children should contribute something to support the Jacob ? named WINEY given from under our hands this 12 Dec 1828.
