I George Seaton of Breckinridge and State of Kentucky being of sound mind but knowing the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time it may happen and for the purpose of settling my worldly affairs do make and ordain this my last will and testament hereby revoking all others by me heretofore made in the following manner (vis) -- Impromised [?]. I desire that my just debts and funeral charges be first paid & satisfied. I give and bequeath to John Miller who married my daughter Margaret one Dollar of my Estate and no more. Item. I give and bequeath to my grandson Thomas Holt Seaton my young bay mare. Item. All the rest and residue of my Estate I give and bequeath to my son Wm K. Seaton but if it should so happen that he should die before his wife it is my desire and will that she may keep said property in her possession so long as she may remain his widow to assist her in raising and educating his children, but she is not to commit any __ of the same but in case of her marriage or committing __ then it is my desire that the same be equally divided amongst his then surviving children. Lastly, I constitute and appoint my son Wm K Seaton as Executor to this my last will and testament. Signed sealed and delivered in presence of us. 11th of March 1837. Atteste George Seaton [SEAL] Wm Seaton Susanna Seaton **** Kentucky Breckenridge County to wit: County Court Monday November 15th 1841 The within writing purporting to be the last will and testament of George Seaton deceased was proved by the oath of Susanna Seaton a subscribing witness thereto and was proved further by the oath of Jo Allen who swore that he was well acquainted with the handwriting of William Seaton the other subscribing witness who is dead & that the will & signature of Wm Seaton as a witness is as he verily believes in the handwriting of William Seaton no[w] deceased and the said will was duly sworn to by William K Seaton the Executor therein named and ordered by the Court to be recorded.
