Submitted by Debbie Dicken Edgar Sexton, 77, Campbellsville, son of the late James Wesley Sexton and Lena Rodgers Sexton, was born in Taylor County on October 10, 1914. He died at 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 1992, in Campbellsville after an illness. He was a member of the Campbellsville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a retired furniture maker. He was married to Lucille Gribbins Sexton on August 11, 1973, who survives. Besides his wife, Sexton is survived by one son and one daughter, Kenneth Sexton Sr., Campbellsville, and Rachel Sexton Freeman, Harrodsburg; one granddaughter and two grandsons, Donna Lynn Smith and Kenneth Sexton Jr., both of Campbellsville and Jerry Dale Freeman, Harrodsburg; two great-granddaughters, Amanda Lynn Ginter and Whitney Ashton Smith, both of Campbellsville; one sister and one brother, Anna Roberts, Campbellsville, and Albert Sexton, Clearwater, Fla.; several other relatives and many friends. The funeral was at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 20, at the Parr! ott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville. The Rev. Ron Ferree officiated. Burial was in the Brookside Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Kenneth Sexton Jr., Jerry Dale Freeman, Allen Smith, Arnie Judd, Jerry Roberts and Richard Roberts. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Bethany Sunday School Class of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
