D, 3rd Kentucky Infantry Russell-Casey County KyArchives Military Other Partial Personal Service Record For Lewis Sharp John Lewis Sharp aka Louis Sharp (1833-1900) Married Phoeba Johnston, daughter of Benj. Johnston in Russell County in 1855. They had several children there including my great grandfather Benjamin F. Sharp, before moving to Casey Co. c. 1860. He is still listed on the Russell County Militia Rolls, along with a Richard Sharp in 1862. There was a William Sharp, a Richard Sharp and Louis in Co. D, 3rd Ky Inf. US. Any information on who John Lewis's parents were or where he was from would be appreciated. I believe he was associated with a Mark Sharp family who lived near the Benjamin Johnston family in Russell Co., but have no documentation. A Selection of his Civil War Personal Service Records The following are service records. They appears as strips of paper and are blank forms filled in. I’ve attempted to accurately transcribe these records as they appear without correcting spelling or punctuation or editing of any sort. "?" and "(sic)"indicate illegible. They are not the complete service records. I have his medical pension applications and will post those when I get around to transcrinbing them.
