Carol Rawls. She died Sunday at her home. Born Sept. 23, 1909, in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Janie Jackson McChord. She was a music supervisor at Carlisle High School and a piano teacher. She was a former vice president of Lexington Women's Club and Women's Club of Central Kentucky, and founder of Federated Music Club of Lexington. She was a graduate of Danville High School, Transylvania University and Cincinnati Conservatory, and a former deacon of Central Christian Church in Lexington. She was a member of Bluegrass Bridge Association and was a grand master bridge player. She was the widower of Maurice "Chess" Shearer. Survivors include her son, James E. Shearer Sr. of Lexington; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home. ______________________________
