Graveside services for Mary Glenn McChord Shearer, 93, of Lexington 
will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bellevue Cemetery by the Rev. Carol Rawls.

She died Sunday at her home.

Born Sept. 23, 1909, in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late 
Charles and Janie Jackson McChord. She was a music supervisor at 
Carlisle High School and a piano teacher. She was a former vice 
president of Lexington Women's Club and Women's Club of Central 
Kentucky, and founder of Federated Music Club of Lexington.

She was a graduate of Danville High School, Transylvania University 
and Cincinnati Conservatory, and a former deacon of Central Christian 
Church in Lexington. She was a member of Bluegrass Bridge Association 
and was a grand master bridge player. She was the widower of Maurice 
"Chess" Shearer.

Survivors include her son, James E. Shearer Sr. of Lexington; three 
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home.
