She had been in ill health two years and bedfast two months. "Mrs. Shuck was a native of Hart county and was born and reared near Munfordville. She met Mr. Shuck while the latter was engaged in buying tobacco on the Horse Cave market. They later married and moved to Glasgow 26 years ago where they have since made their home. They had been residing at the Wells place for the past several months. "Mrs. Shuck served a term as secretary of the Barren county Democratic committee, being elected in 1932. "A member of the Christian church from childhood, she was devoted to her church and spent most of her life in practicing and teaching its tenets. Gentle, kind and affectionate, Mrs. Shuck enjoyed a wide acquaintance thruout the county and was universally loved and respected. She was known to everyone as a loveable character and her fine traits lingered to the end of a useful life. A finer, more consecrated character never lived and with her passing a saintly woman has been called to her reward. "Besides her husband, Mr. Ernest Shuck, she is survived by two sisters, Miss Elizabeth Simms, Mrs. Annie Bailey; one brother, Mr. Tom Simms, all of Rowletts, Hart county; three nieces, Mrs. Lee Cook, of Louisville; Mrs. W. H. Lane of Rowletts and Mrs. William Owsley, of Winchester. "Funeral services were held Tuesday, 2 pm at the Crow Funeral Home in this city, the Rev. Kenneth H. McCorkle in charge, assisted by W. P. Coombs. Burial was in the Canmer cemetery in Hart County."
