                         JOHN S. SLONE
                                
RED CREEK - John S. Slone, 80, of Red Creek, died Saturday at Pikeville
Methodist Hospital.
     Born Jan. 15, 1900 at Shelbiana, he was a son of Edward Slone. He was 
a member of the Red Creek Church of Christ and a retired miner.
     He is survived by his wife, Deset James Slone; a daughter, Ruth Slone
Damron of Russell; a brother, Lonnie Huffman of Red Creek; a sister, Eunice 
Huffman of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
     Funeral services will be held Tuesday in the Justice Funeral Home
Chapel with Ricky King, Roy Hall and Bob McKinney officiating. Burial will 
follow in the Runyon Cemetery at Shelbiana.
     Arrangements are under the direction of the Justice Funeral Home of
Pikeville.
