ALICE EVALYN SUMNER SMITH
 
Alice Evalyn Sumner Smith, 87, Corydon, died 12:15pm Sunday, Aug. 16 at
Community Methodist Hospital in Henderson.
 
Mrs. Smith was born Feb. 8, 1911 in Jackson Co., IL., to Charles Milton
Sumner and Mamie Grace (Reeder) Sumner.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde. Smith in 1976; a son,
Clyde A. Smith in 1991; and a daughter , Betty Shelton in 1995.
 
Survivors include three daughters, Helen Shelton of Robards, Linda Stone
of Henderson and Lillian Embry of Corydon; one son, James R. Smith of
Lafayette, IN; 31 grandchildren; and 56 great grandchildren.
 
Services will be held 2 pm Wed. August 19, at Whitsell Funeral Home in
Morganfield. The Rev. Ruben Powell will be officiating. Burial will be in
Old Bethel Cemetery, Union County.
 
Friends may call from 10am until service time today at Whitsell Funeral
Home in Morganfield.
