Smith, died at his home at Poplar Springs, on June 17, after an illness of fifteen years. "He was in his 70th year and was a member of the Temple Hill Methodist Church. "Surviving are his widow and ten children, viz: Messrs. D. and Clyde Smith, of Poplar Springs, and Guy Smith, of Ohio; Nat S. and Arlie Smith, of Wisconsin; John Smith of Georgia; Mrs. Lon Moore, of Defiance, Ohio; Mrs. Lecta Chenoweth, of Oklahoma; Mrs. Myrtle Baldock, of Summer Shade; and Mrs. Lyda Shipley, of Poplar Springs. "Burial was the following dat at the home burying ground after funeral services by Rev. Mitchell. "Mr. Smith was a man who had the love of his neighbors; he was a man of honesty, integrity and steadfastness. His death caused universal sorrow."
