Born Jan. 1, 1938, in Taylor County, she was the daughter of the late John Frank and Audrey Ford. She was a homemaker and attended Bethel Baptist Church. She was a member of the church choir and had attended Bate High School. Survivors include her husband, William Smith; two daughters, Sherry L. Smith and Katrine Young of Lexington; four brothers, Ottis Ford of Turnersville, Gerald Ford of Dayton, Ohio, and Cecil and Walter Ford, both of Danville; a sister, Opal Johnson of Danville; and three grandsons. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Danville by the Revs. Richard Hill and Ronald L. Burns. Burial will be in Hilldale Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Smith-Jackson Funeral Home and from 11:30 a.m. to time of service Wednesday at the church. .............................................................
