Barren County KyArchives Obituaries

Memory Card in the possession of the late Brice T. Leech.
"W. F. Smith. Died September 30 1912, age 79. Resided Glasgow, a carpenter.
Cause: Organic heart disease. Father: John C. Smith. Burial at Smith Burial Grounds. Died at Central Hospital, Monday afternoon, September 30, 1912, at 3 o'clock, in the eightieth year of his age. Funeral services will be conducted at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. Charley Tolle, Wednesday (to-morrow) afternoon at 3 o'clock. Burial will take place immediately thereafter in the John C Smith burying-ground near town. Friends and acquaintances of the family are invited to attend. Glasgow, Ky., Tuesday, October 1, 1912."

Cemetery was located on the by-pass of 31-E and Happy Valley Road just north of the Glasgow Square Shopping Center. The cemetery was supposedly moved in 1974 to make room for construction, present location unknown.
