Deed Bk K, p 73 Williams - Smock This indenture made this 3rd day of March 1843. Henry Williams and Sarah his wife of the County of Jefferson and State of Kentucky of this first part and Mathias Smock of the County Bullitt and State aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth The said Henry Williams and Sarah his wife for and in consideration od the sum of Five Hundred Dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and granted, bargained and sold and by these presents, do grant, bargain and sell to the said Mathias Smock his heirs or assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the County of Bullitt state of Kentucky in Broad Run containing ninety-seven and a half acres by survey with the exception of one half acre of said tract of land lying in the northeast corner on which a public school house now stands, and said tract of land bounded as follows. Beginning at two ashes and sugar tree, and running thence N 80 W. 75 poles to an elm and hickory thence N10 and 74 poles to a stone marked T. C. in [Borad ?] ___ and thence N 80 __ 8 poles to a stone marked T. C. thence N 10 E 80 poles to a sugar tree and ____ thence S 80 E 20 poles to a stone marked T. C. thence N. 10 54 poles to a stone and Beech. Thence S 80 E 64 poles to a stone marked T. C. thence S 10 W 208 poles to the beginning. To Have and To Hold the said tract or parcel of land with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any way appertaining to the only proper use and length of the said Mathias Smock his heirs and assigns forever against the claims of all and every other whatever as well against the claims of himself his heirs or Executors and administrators. In Testimony whereof we hereto set our hands and affixed our seals in ____ of. Attest Henry X Williams [seal] H. Pound Sarah X Williams [seal] Isaac Mills State of Kentucky Jefferson County Towit. We H. Pound and Isaac Mills two Justices of the peace for said county do hereby certify that Henry Williams and Sarah Williams parties to the within deed personally appeared before us in our court aforesaid and subscribed and acknowledged the same to be their act and deed. We having previously examined the said Sarah Williams apart from her husband and she with her own free will and consent relinquished her right of dower in the said lands and desired us to certify the said acknowledgement to the clerk of the Bullitt County Court in order that the said deed may be recorded.
