For that whereas on 4th day of Feb. 1804 at the Parish Of Kentucky and Circuit aforesaid (Bullitt) the Defendant executed to the Pltff his certain writing obligatory.. whereby he promisd to pay the Plaintiff. $55 upon condition the Pltff shold go to New Orleans in teh Deft's boats; but if he went no further than Natchez. 50 dollars on or before the 1 day of October next ensueing the date of sd. Writing. And the Pltff avers that he did go to New Orleans in the Deft's boat. Nevertheless the defendant has not paid the sum or any part thereof; and therefore he sues & c.
