CHARLES O. SPRIGGS 

Charles O. Spriggs, 78 died at 1:55 a. m. Friday, at a hospital in Lexington, 
where he had been a patient for six months. 
A resident of Concord, Mr. Spriggs suffered a cerebral hemorrhage 18 years ago 
and had been an invalid since. 
Mr. Spriggs was born July 19, 1873, in Rowan County, a son of William and 
Matilda Higgins Spriggs. He was married 60 years ago to Cora Lighter Spriggs. 
Surviving are his wife, four sons, Cecil of Garrison, Gordon and Rev. G.H. 
Spriggs, both of Huntington, and Paul Spriggs of Concord; six daughters, Mrs 
Violet Copeland, Mrs Archie Cogan and Mrs. Robert Vance, all of Concord; Mrs 
Merle Rupe, Vanceburg, Mrs S. J. Moffett of Covington, and Mrs William Stone 
of New Boston. 
Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Sunday at the Concord Church. Burial was 
in Concord Cemetery.
