Herald 1949 JOHN LEWIS SPRIGGS John Lewis Spriggs, a retired mail carrier at Concord,was found dead, by a neighbor, Arch Cogan, Thursday morning, about 9:30 o'cIock.He passed his 79th- birthday earlier in ApriL. Dr. H M.. Bertram, coroner, stated that death was due to coronary thrombitis, and that he had probably died during the night. Mr. Spriggs served as a mail carrier at Concord for about two years prior to his, retirement. He was well known and genuinely liked. A lifetime resident of Lewis couny, the deceased was born April 12, 1870 . He was the son of the late William and Matilda Higgins Spriggs. Except for several nieces and nephews, his only survivor is a brother of Concord; Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon.
