"We are sad indeed to ascertain from Mrs. Jas. H Pendlton that his [sic] sister, Mrs. P. Estis, of Dry Fork, Metcalfe Co., died Jan. 21st. She had for some months been confined to her house with consumption. I was with her a frew moments, a little more than two months before her death, a glow of intense pleasure over-spread her countenance as she told me of the certain heritage she possessed beyond the river of death. Every thing of an earthly character appeared to sink into utter insignifigance compared to the sure knowledge she expessed of her interest in the atonement made for all who seek. Truly she was a most exemplary christian, and the last five or six years of her life were spent in a daily abnegation for the pleasure of those to whose wants it had been her lot of minister; but far, far, from toill and care she has a home with the innumerable hosts of angels, with Jesus, the Mediator of the new covenant, and with God, the Judge of all. Two weeks before her death, on the same day of the week and almost at the same hour, her aunt, Mrs. Cinthia Carr, wife of Marion Carr, deceased, also of comsumption. She also gave evidence of her acceptance." "Occasionally".
