Mr. Spriggs 
Norman "Gene" Spriggs, 50, of  Myra, died Thursday, April 10,2003, at Three 
Rivers  Medical Center. 
 Born February II, 1953, in Lewis County, he was a son of  Nellie Clark 
Spriggs of Norton, Virginia and the late Donald Spriggs. He was a US Navy 
Vietnam veteran and retired from Ashland Oil. Surviving are his wife, Anna 
Thornsberry Spriggs: one daughter Jodie (James) Hill of Norton, one son, Scott 
Eugene (Sabrina )Spriggs of Myra: one sister, Nella Wallace of Elkhorn City: 
two brothers, George Spriggs of Ne­vada, Ohio, and Michael Spriggs of Clayton, 
North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Maranda Cavins, Blakelee Cavins, Andrew 
Cavins, Sierra Spriggs, Tyler Spriggs. Kristi (Roland) Cochrane, and Mikey 
Hill; and .one great-grand­son, Jonah Cochrane. . . He was preceded in death by 
one sister, Pamela Sue Spriggs. 

Services were conducted Sat­urday,ApriI 12,2003,at 2:00p.m., at the First 
Baptist Church in Louisa. Rev. Jamie Thornsbetty and Rev. Ric Frazier 
officiated with burial in Yatesville Memorial Gardens in Louisa. Graveside 
military rites were accorded by members of the VFW and Ameri­can Legion. 
Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Fu­neral Home in Louisa.
