Clark Steele died of heart trouble Thursday, Sept. 24 at the home of his daughter Mrs. Joshua Fleming near Carlisle. Burial in Cartmill graveyard on upper Prickly Ash Friday. He was 73 last March and was a son on Jacob and his first wife and a full brother of Robert and George Steele and of Mrs. Enoch Burns, all deceased. His father married a second time, his children being Cass Steele, deceased; Mrs. Pierce Goodpaster of this town; Mrs. Jesse Hamilton, deceased and Mrs. Lina Darnell of Flat Creek. His first wife was Maria Moore, daughter of Harlan Moore. No children. His second wife was Ellen Daughtery; daughter of John Daugherty of Prickly Ash. She died 4 years ago Christmas. 
Surviving children; Joshua of Sangamon Co. Ill., Mrs. Maria Fleming of near Carlisle, William of White Oak, Curran of upper Prickly Ash, and DeWitt of White Oak.
