World War II veteran serving in the US Coast Guard as a Specialist, Third Class (PS), from September 14, 1942 until October 5, 1945. Ordained 13 February 1966 as a Baptist minister. Had pastored Little Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Silent Grove Baptist Church and LawrenceChapel and served as a minister until his death. Was 1st superintenent of Little Hope Missionary Baptist Church Sunday School, where he was a member for 51 years. Survivors: Wife: Geneva Pauline Neville Stice Sons: Barry and wife Karen of Brownsville, KY and Shane and wife Terri Stice of Cave City. Daughters: Brenda Cooper and husband Jewell; Pat Minor and husband Wesley, all of Cave City, and Lydia Carey and husband Bobby of Glasgow, KY. Brothers: Raymond of Louisville, KY and Leo of Brownsville Sister: Noma Houchin of Brownsville 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. Preceded also in death by sister: Leila Blackwell. Services: 11 am Saturday, 17 March 2001, church, Bob Hunt Funeral Home in charge of arrangements, burial Cave City Cemetery.
