Duward Leonard Stiff, 89, Brandenburg, died Dec. 29, 2007. He was born Oct. 23, 1918, in Mystic, the son of the late John and Carrie (Harrison) Stiff.

He was an Army veteran of WWII, a farmer, a civil service worker and a member of Irvington Masonic Lodge #868 F&AM, where he formerly served as Past Master.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Matthews, Celia Keys and Jean Heitmeyer; a brother, John Stiff; and a stepdaughter, Phyllis Kay Conley.

Mr. Stiff is survived by his wife, Lena Mae Stiff, Brandenburg; two sisters, Mildred (Julian) Keys, Clarkson, and Jewel Higginbotham, Dunedin, Fla.; two stepchildren, Judy Boyd and Brenda (Hoyt) Martin; seven step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; five nieces; and five nephews.

Funeral services were held Jan. 1 from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Blanc officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Irvington.
