Stillwell.John-Shannon.Samuel.1796.Shelby.DEEDFrom: KyArchives [Archives@genrecords.org] To: Ky-Footsteps Subject: Stillwell.John-Shannon.Samuel.1796.Shelby.DEED John Stillwell - Samuel Shannon March 15, 1796 Shelby County KyArchives Deed Fox Run Written: March 15, 1796 Recorded: March 15, 1796 Shelby Co Deed Bk B1, p 38, 39 STILWELL; SHANNON; BRASHEIRS; NOEL McGAUGHEY; ELDER; CRAIG This Indenture made this fifteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninty six between Samuel SHANNON of the County of Shelby and State of Kentucky and John STILWELL of the County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Samuel Shannon for and in Consideration of the sum of twenty five pounds to him in hand paid by the sd John STILWELL the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and himself therewith fully Satisfyed he the said Samuel SHANNON hath granted bargained and sold aliened and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain and sell alien and confirm unto the said John STILWELL his Heirs Executors administrators or assigns the full quantity of fifty acres of Land Situate lying and being in the County of Shelby adjoining Richard BRASHEIRs ____ ON THE North and lying on the waters of Fox run and bounded as Followeth. Towit Begining at two ash trees and walnut standing on the East side of Run running into fox run in the time of the said Survey and extending thence West 80 poles to an Ash and Beech thence North 100 poles to a large Walnut and hackberry thence East 80 poles to an Elm and three Sugartrees, thence South 100 poles to the begining To have and to hold the said fifty acres of Land and all and singular the premesses above mentioned and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said John STILWELL his Heirs and assigns to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said John STILWELL his Heirs and assigns forever and the said Samuel SHANNON for himself his Heirs Executors and administrators the said fifty acres of Land and premisses and all and every Part and parcel thereof against him and his Heirs and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever Warrant and and forever Defend by these presents the said fifty acres of Land for his Heirs Executors and administrators doth also further covenant and agree to and with the said John STILWELL that he the said Samuel SHANNONE his Heirs ___ shall and will at any time or times hereafter when ever thereunto required give grant makeover and Convey by any other Conveyance that may be Lawfully advised devised and required by the said John STILWELL Council learned in the Law the said fifty acres of land with the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said John STILWELL his Heirs and assigns in as full free and absolute a manner as can be by words enforced according to the true intent and meaning of these presents in Witness whereof the said Samuel SHANNON hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above mentioned Sealed Signed and delivered Samuel SHANNON [seal] in the presence of us Basil NOEL John McGAUGHEY John ELDER I acknowledge to have received from Mr John STILWELL before the signing the within conveyance the sum of twenty five pounds current Lawful money of Kentucky it being in consideration for the within mentioned tract of Land and premises I say received by me this fifteenth day of March 1796 Samuel SHANNON Witness present Basil NOEL Shelby County Sct March Court 1796 This Indenture with the receipt thereon endorsed was acknowledged by the within named Samuel SHANNON to be his act and deed and ordered to be Recorded Teste James CRAIG CC Transcribed by Patricia O'Connor p-oconnor@att.net Submitted by: Patricia O’Connor p-oconnor@att.net This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/kyfiles/
