One of four children born to the late Rainey Ellis and Francis (Groves) Ellis "Senie" attended public school in Cumberland Co, member CME Methodist Church. In 1958, moved to Glasgow and joined First Baptist Church where she remained a member until her death. Served as usher-treasurer for over 25 years, vice president of Gleaners Club. Chaired the Church Entertainment for several years. Worked as a houskeeper for Mrs. Nell Eaton for more than 30 years until her retirement. Married Benton Barthel Stockton in 1945, he preceded her in death.

Two daughters: Elaine Francis and Mary L. Rhodes
Daughter-in-law: Thelma Stockton
Sons-in-law: Harry Francis and Ralph Rogers
Special daughter: Carol Nell Mmahat (Joey)
Seven grandchildren: Craig (Marchel) Monique, Lakresia (Jesse), Dasha, Lamont, Leticia and Emily Mmahat Special granddaughter; 10 great-grandchildren

Sister-in-law: Madgalene Richardson
