Eisenhower as postmaster and served in that capacity in Horse Cave for 27 years. Very active in state and national associations of postmasters, Postmaster of the Year for the state of Kentucky in 1974. U S Army Staff Sergeant in WW II, serving during the European Theatre. A decorated veteran, awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star after being critically wounded on 29 Nov 1944. Served as Quarter Master for VFW Post #5912 and as finance officer for the American Legion Post #101 of Hart County with lifetime memberships. Kentucky Colonel, Seventh Day Adventist. Survivors: Wife of 60 years: Carolyn Dennison Sullivan Daughters: Peggy C Sullivan of Nashville TN and Dianne Sullivan Martin of Jonesboro Arkansas Four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren Brothers: Thurston and Don Sullivan, both of Munfordville Sisters: Frances Defevers and Barbara Sullivan, both of Munfordville Two aunts, one brother-in-law, several nieces and nephews.
