Herald 1988 MID TACKETT Mid Tackett 75, of McDowell Creek Road, Garrison, Ky., was found dead at his home Wednesday, October 26, 1988. Lewis county Deputy Coroner, James E. Estepp ruled the death resulted from a heart attack which occurred around midnight. He had not been well for sometime. He was a retired coal miner and farmer. Mr. Tackett was born in Pike County, Ky., on September 13, 1913, the son of the late William and Martha Music Tackett. He had resided in Lewis County since 1950. His wife, Edna Bell Burks Tackett, whom he married July 3, 1933, died May 29, 1970. Sueviving are five sons, Billy Joe Tackett, Mid Tackett Jr. and Hays Tackett, all of Garrison; Frank Tackett of Beaver, Ohio and Arthur (Goffer) Tackett of Tampa, Fla.; four daughters, Mrs Peggy Dowden and Mrs Morrine Ginn, of Garrison; Mrs Cleo Dyer, of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Trilla Armes of Galion, Ohio: two brothers, Rans Tackett of Germantown and Acie Tackett, of Melvin, Ky.; three sisters, Mrs Verti (Bob) Emert and Mrs Marie DiPrima of Portsmouth, Ohio and Mrs. Goldie Mashburn of Quincy; 32 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, october 29, 1988, at the Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg. Rev. Joe Walters officiated and burial was in the Skidmore cemetery at Garrison.
