Trent-Dowell Funeral Home Obituary Listings Lula Marticha Collard Tate, age 89 of Hardinsburg, KY died Monday, 5-5-2008 at Breckinridge Health,INC. She was born in Hardin County, KY on 8-20-1918, the daughter of the late Elijah and Odie Lee VanMeter Collard. She retired from Galante Studio, was a member of Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church and an avid quiltmaker.


She was preceded in death by her husband R. M. Tate, a grandson - Thurman Alfred Tate, siblings - Irene Newberry, Frances Gutszell and Gladys Walthers.


Lula is survived by 3 children: 
Jimmy (Mary Ann) Tate, Jeanetta Leigh (Tom) Tivitt and Jackie Wayne (Wanda) Tate of Hardinsburg,KY

1 sister: Mary Ann Counterman of Chesapeake,VA

1 brother: Elijah Collard, Jr. of Lake Worth, FL

8 grandchildren: James Edward, Thomas Alfred, Bradley Wayne and Jaclyn Suzanne Tate Gary Thomas, Serena Leigh, Greg Monroe and Gerald Allen Tivitt

16 great grandchildren: Dillon, Lacee, Collin and Cody Tate Ranson, Philip, Rebekah,Chassidy,Miranda,Leigh and Bryce Tivitt Nicole and Tyler Tucker Jason Jarboe Chanel Hurley Paige Carman

8 great great grandchildren:Steven and Larissa Durbin Jaylon and Marcie Jo Jarboe Rhiannon Huffines Loxlei Tivitt Blake Shrewsberry Dayne Hurley many nieces and nephews


Funeral services will be held on Friday, 5-9-2008 at 1PM at Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dee Ann Thompson and Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. 
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation on Thursday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home from 3:30 - 8:00PM and after 8:30AM Friday. Memorial contributions are requested to Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund or Freedom Cemetery.
