Mrs. Alice Gorin Taylor, in her 79th year, died at her home late Saturday afternoon, at 5:30 o'clock. Death as caused by an segregated form of pneumonia. Surviving is an only sister, Miss Annie Gorin, of this city. Her brother, Judge H. C. Gorin, having preceded her to the grave one year ago. Two nieces survive her, Mrs. J. B. Whitney and Miss Lou Proctor of Glasgow Junction. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Episcopal Church. She was the daughter of the Hon. Franklin Gorin, a pioneer citizen of Glasgow, the first white child born in Glasgow, in fact. Her mother was Miss Frances Gullod, of London, England, and was twice married, her fidrst marriage being to Mr. Boardman. Mrs. Taylor was a talented lady, highly cultured and possessed many special attributes. In truth, she was one of the best loved, one of themost companionable and one of the truest, most positive characters of Glasgow. She was kind, considerate and very charitable and it gave her great pleas! ure to do things that comforted and benefited others. She was public spirited and despite her advanced years, took keen interest in the activities of the day. Her death has removed a leading, sincere character, a splendid lady and a loving companionable spirit. Funeral was at the residence on Monday by Dr. S. D. Gordon, and interment was in the family lot in the Glasgow Cemetery.
