THE CASEY COUNTY NEWS,1944
Word has been recieved by relatives at Dunneville that Pvt. Vernon Thomas, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jess D. Thomas,was killed in France on November 11th.  The young mn entered the service from this county more than two years ago.  The parents now reside in Indianapolis, IND.  A brother, Curtis Thomas is with the American forces in France or Germany.
