Whaley, the dau of Benjamin and Jane Bush Whaley. page 3 of the Carlisle Murcury (Nicholas Co., KY) 12 May 1921 THOMPSON--Mr Daniel Duty Thompson, aged 73 years, died at his home on West Main street, at 1:30 p.m. last Friday, after an illness of about two years with heart trouble. Mr Thompson had lived in Carlisle only about six weeks, having moved here from his farm near Moorefield where he resided for 48 years. He was born in Montgomery County July 31, 1847, moved to Bath county in early youth and resided there until after his marriage to Miss Kate Whaley on December 13 1874. Two years after their marriage Mr and Mrs, Thompson moved to Nicholas County where they have since resided. Mr Thompson united with the Christian church in 1869 and served as a deacon in the Moorefield Christian church for a number of years. For over 50 years he was a member of the Masonic fraternity and during most of that time was active in the affairs ofthe order. Besides his wife Mr. Thompson is survived by six children, Ben R. Thompson, Rockford, Ill., Mrs S. P. Moffett, Lexington, Mrs W. L. Dillon, Paris, Mrs Amos W. Stamper, Millersburg, Chester thompson, Moorefield, and Miss Winnie Thompson, this city: five grandchildren, Vivian Moffett, Lexington, Glendon Thompson, Tockford, Ill., Elizabeth, Roy and Frances Dillon, Paris; two brothers, Mr. Horatio Thompson, Shelbyville, and Mr W. t. Thompson, Carrs; and four sisters, Mrs Mamie Wilson, Pleasureville, Mrs. Sally Calahan, Mrs Emma Thompson, and Miss Alline Thompson, Louisville. Funeral services were held at the late jhome Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. W. P. Crouch, assisted by Rev. S. L. Moore. The body was taken to Sharpsburg for interment, and service at the grave were in charge of the Morefield Masonic Lodge.
