Born April 30, 1938, in Danville, she was the daughter of Mary Louise Durham Minor of Danville and the late Milton Carlisle Minor. She was owner of Fountain Valley Farm, a breeder of standardbred horses for 30 years, and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She was a graduate of Abbott Academy in Boston and attended University of Kentucky where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She was a past member of the Boyle County Fair Board and taught dyslexic students in the Danville schools. Other survivors include her husband, James D. Thompson; two sons, James C. Thompson of Danville and Martin T. Thompson of Kennesaw, Ga.; a daughter, Tamera Thompson Terndrup of Westchester, Ohio; two brothers, Milton Minor of Bloomington, Ind., and Marion Minor of Danville; a sister, Marilyn Johnson of Loveland, Colo.; and four grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday. Memorials may go to Heritage Hospice.
