Thurman-to-Thomas.etal.1817.Cumberland.DEED Fleming B., Jesse, & John Thurman - Thomas Thurman December 5 1817 Cumberland County KyArchives Deed Written: December 5 1817 Deed Book C page 316 This indenture made this fifth day of December one thousand eight hundred and seventeen between THOMAS THURMAN son of WILLIAM and SUSANNAH THURMAN of Cumberland County and State of Kentucky of the one part and LFEMING THURMAN, JESSE THURMAN brothers of the said THOMAS; and CHARLES BURKS, ISAAC ASHLOCK, ABEL COX AND EZEKIAL DOSS the four last being brothers-in-law to said THOMAS of the other part Witnesseth: That the said FLEMING, JESSE, CHARLES, ISAAC and Belford and in consideration of the near connection between the grantee and grantor by the ties of consanguinity and in consideration of the natural love and affection which the said grantors have for the grantee, hath bargained, sold, aliened, quit claim to made over, transferred, and conveyed; and by these presents doth bargain, sell, alien, quit claim to and make over, transfer and convey all the rights, title, claim or interest of in and to all the lands, tenements, hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging of in and to all that landed interest which may be found due and coming to LABUM THURMAN deceased as to his legal representatives, the said LABUM deceased being the brother of the said THOMAS. The said land being a donation as a part of the bounty as wages which the said LABUM was and his representatives is entitled to for his services rendered as a soldier regularly enlisted in the U.S. army in the late war with Great Britain, he the said LABUM being enlisted in the county and state aforesaid and attached to the North Western Army. But it is expressly understood that the said FLEMING, JESSE, CHARLES, ISAAC, ABEL and EZEKIAL only makes a special original title as claim conveyance to all the interest both real and personal which either by law or equity they are as may be emitted to as the legal heir or devises of the said decedant LABUM THURMAN for and in consideration of the services which the said decedant hath rendered as a soldier aforesaid. And it is further expressly understood that the said grantors or their heirs are not to be responsible in any other way or manner whatever only to quit their claim as aforesaid. To have and to hold the aforesaid premises with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging to the only proper use, benefit and behalf of him the said THOMAS THURMAN and his heirs forever against the legal claim and demand of themselves their heirs and all claiming and or through us by them but not from the claim on demand of any other person or persons whatsoever.
