Know all men by these presents that I William Thurmon late of the County of 
Cumberland and State of Kentucky do hereby constitute and appoint Abel Cox of 
the County and State aforesaid my lawful attorney in fact for the purpose of 
selling and conveying all my right title, interest, and claim of and unto a 
certain head right improvement of land lying on the waters of raft creek in the 
County of Cumberland and State aforesaid containing fifty acres and he the said 
Cox is hereby authorized to convey the same and all writings and monuments 
there unto belonging and receive the due thereof and give his receipt therefore 
in my name and if which acts of said Cox shall be binding on me and my Resist 
forever.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 22 day 
of June 1805.
