ASA TOMLIN was born in Brown County, Ohio, August 15, 1815, he is the sixth of a family of nine children born to Christian and Lucinda (White) Tomlin. Christian Tomlin was born on the Atlantic Ocean. He was a son of Jacob. Mrs. Lucinda Tomlin was born in Culpeper County, Va. Asa Tomlin moved with his parents to Pendleton County, Ky., in 1817. In 1836 he went to Kenton County, and remained until 1838, then went to Grant County, Ky., where he has since resided. He has baptized 2,500 people during his long and useful life. He was married, March 20, 1849, to Eliza Jane Franks, of Grant County, daughter of John Franks. Five children blessed this union, two living: John C. and James F.
