Funeral Was Held Tuesday For Tana W. Townsend, 59

The funeral for Mrs. Tana Warren Townsend, 59, of Dawson Springs 
was held Tuesday morning, Dec. 16, at Beshear Funeral Home. 

The Rev. Herbert Kittinger officiated. Burial was in Rosedale Cemetery. 

Mrs. Townsend died Thursday, Dec. 11, at her home. 

She was born Dec. 14, 1943, in Hopkins County, daughter of the late 
James Thomas and Lyda Mae Fox Warren. 

Mrs. Townsend, a 1961 graduate of Dawson Springs High School, was 
executive director of the Dawson Springs Housing Authority. She was 
a member of the Dawson Springs First Baptist Church and Order of 
Eastern Star. 

Surviving are her husband of 41 years Harold Ray Townsend; a daughter, 
Mrs. Alex (Ashlee) Mawdsley, Metropolis, Ill.; a son, Maj. Stacy Sean 
Townsend, Leavenworth, Kansas, who is on military tour with the U.S. 
Army in South Korea; a brother, Terry James Warren, Dawson Springs; 
and two stepgrandchildren. 

Pallbearers were William Adams, Marvin Dismang, Steven Scott, Scotty 
Hester, Jason Edwards and Jordan James. 

Honorary pallbearers were Trena Victory and Mayor Stacia Peyton. 

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Tree of Life, 
Regional Medical Center, Merle M. Mahr Cancer Center, 900 Hospital Drive,
Madisonville, Ky. 42431.
