From the Danville Advocate Messenger, 4 May 2003 LIBERTY -- Tom True, 83, of Liberty died Friday at Casey County Hospital. Born March 12, 1920, in Casey County, he was the son of the late Aldie and Delora Atwood True. He owned Sandy's Grill and was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include two daughters, Gerri Threatt of Rockingham N.C. and Kay Brown of Liberty; two sons, Larry True and Julius Woodrum both of Liberty; two brothers, Aldie True, Jr. and Elmer "Doc" True, both of Liberty; five sisters, Pearl Sharp, Lula Wilson and Elizabeth Grider, all of Liberty, Iva Dean Woodrum of Stockwell, Ind. and Thelma Sweeney of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday by Jim Powell and DeWayne Duncan at Liberty United Methodist Church. Burial will be Wilson Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Monday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. ______________________________
