From the Danville Advocate Messenger, 11 May 2003 PERRYVILLE -- Services for Earl Robert Turpin, 76, of Webster Road, Danville, will be 2 p.m. today at Perryville United Methodist Church by the Revs. Gerald Gaddis and G.W. Smith. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. He died Thursday at home. Born March 3, 1927 in Casey County, he was the son of the late John David and Lola Jefferies Turpin. He was a self-employed farmer and member of the Perryville United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a Kentucky Colonel and past President of the National Redbone Coon Hound Association. He also bred and raised Belgian horses. He pulled his horses and wagons in many area parades. Survivors include his wife, Harriet Crews Turpin; a daughter, Jackie Feistritzer of Danville; a son, Gary Turpin of Danville; a sister, Dorothy Boyd of Danville; a brother, Edward Turpin of Stanford; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Braswell, Stacey Hurst, Phil Feistritzer, Dean Carpenter, Walen Wrenn and Jeff Goode. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation is after 11 p.m. at the church. Memorials may go to Heritage Hospice. Arrangements were handled by Wilder Funeral Home. ______________________________
